Highways
The Superintendent of Highways is charged with the responsibility of maintaining all the town roads in the Town of Lake Pleasant and overseeing all the highway department employees and operations. This includes, but is not limited to, managing road repairs, snow and ice removal, drainage systems, street signage, town bridges, and culverts. Additionally, the Town of Lake Pleasant, under contract with the State of New York, de-ices thirty-three lane miles of state roads. The highway superintendent is elected for a two-year term.

Solid Waste & Recycling
Under the "Special Refuse" portion of the town budget, the highway superintendent is charged with the responsibility of managing curbside pickup of all household solid waste and recycleables. While the town has no operating landfill, it does contract with Hamilton County to transfer its waste to a DEC approved landfill in Rodman, NY. The town transports its solid waste to the county transfer station on Route 8 in Lake Pleasant, about 6 miles west of the town hall.

Parks, Recreation, and Buildings
Under the "General Fund" portion of the town budget, the highway superintendent oversees the maintenance of recreational trails, cemeteries, and all town buildings, including the Nathan Littauer Primary Care Center and Town of Lake Pleasant Public Library.
